Yes. All your business data is encrypted in transit and stored securely on AWS servers in Singapore. We never sell, share, or use your data for advertising. You can export or delete your account at any time.
Do I need accounting knowledge to use Talkbooks?+
No. Talkbooks is built for people who don't speak accountant-ese. You just say what happened in plain language and Talkbooks handles the bookkeeping behind the scenes.
What's the difference between Free, Personal, Business, Team, and Enterprise?+
Free ($0) is personal finance with a 35-message monthly cap — full transaction history, no time limit, your data stays yours. Personal ($2.99/mo) lifts the cap to 80 messages, opens up 3 entities, lets you invite 1 family member, and unlocks bill reminders, the AI daily digest, voice input, and multi-currency wallets. Business ($9.99/mo) gets you 250 messages, up to 5 members per entity, plus sales, inventory, orders, payout reconciliation, COGS/balance-sheet tracking, and BIR tax prep. Team ($24.99/mo) is Business plus 650 messages and up to 10 members. Enterprise (contact us) is unlimited messages and unlimited members for larger operations.
Does it work without internet?+
Talkbooks requires an internet connection — the AI processing happens on our servers. We're working on offline support for basic actions in a future update.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You can cancel anytime in your device settings — you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.
What happens to my data if I downgrade or cancel?+
Your data is never deleted. You can view your full transaction history in the app on every plan, including Free — it's your data. You can also export everything to CSV anytime — Account → Export your data — and download a zip of every activity, order, item, bill, payout, and wallet. Some features (inventory, orders, tax filing) become read-only on the free plan, but the records themselves stay intact.
Does Talkbooks have a real balance sheet for my business?+
Yes. Business and Team plans get a proper balance sheet — assets (cash, inventory, equipment, open receivables), liabilities (open payables, card debt), and equity (owner contributions, partner draws, retained earnings). Cash basis with a projection after open commitments, and multi-currency rows stay separate (your $5 stays $5, never silently converted to ₱). Tap any business entity → Balance sheet, or just say "show my balance sheet".
Can I track owner contributions, partner investments, and equipment?+
Yes. Capital contributions and owner/partner draws are tracked separately from income and expense — no more inflating revenue when the founder injects cash. Equipment can be tracked as a fixed asset with straight-line depreciation: say "bought a laptop ₱60k as a fixed asset" or "espresso machine 80k capex" and it sits on your balance sheet at depreciated book value, not as a one-time expense.
What if the AI mishears or miscategorizes something?+
Every entry the AI records is shown back to you in plain language and appears on your activity list. Tap any transaction to edit the amount, recategorize it, change the wallet, or delete it — the books update instantly. Nothing the AI logs is hidden or final; you stay in control of every line.
Does Talkbooks handle taxes?+
Talkbooks generates income statements, expense reports, and tax summaries that you can share with your accountant or use for self-filing. We support tax form generation for select countries, with more being added.
Does Talkbooks support Philippine BIR forms?+
Yes. Business and Team plans auto-generate the key BIR forms for self-employed individuals and small businesses — 1701Q (quarterly income tax), 1701A (annual income tax), 2307 (withholding certificate), and SAWT (Summary Alphalist of Withholding Taxes) — prefilled from your activity. Designed for the 8% flat-rate option most small operators use.
Can I track multiple wallets and currencies?+
Yes. From the Personal plan upwards you can track cash, GCash, Maya, BPI, UnionBank, credit cards — each as a separate wallet — and record transactions in PHP, USD, or any currency you work with. Balances are kept per wallet, per currency.
Can my staff use Talkbooks too?+
Yes. Personal includes 2 members per entity (you + 1 invited family member), Business includes up to 5 members, Team up to 10 — all with role-based access (manager, staff, viewer). For larger teams, Enterprise removes the cap entirely.
How is this different from QuickBooks or Xero?+
QuickBooks and Xero were built for accountants in the US, UK, and Australia. They don't speak BIR, don't reconcile Shopee or Lazada payouts, and weren't built for someone running a sari-sari operation alongside an online shop. Talkbooks is mobile-first and conversational, generates the actual BIR forms (1701Q, 1701A, 2307, SAWT) prefilled from your activity, reconciles your weekly Shopee escrow line by line, and treats Messenger sales the same as Shopee sales. Different category, different price, different language.
